Be careful of the "kill-readout" you see in the upper right of your HUD. With the speed at which we consolers run these matches, it's not dead-accurate (can't be) about who killed what with what. The best of us have confirmed this fact... the report of how you got killed is occasionally wacky.
I've lobbed enough grenades (AV or locus), and aimed enough missile and Railgun and Blaster installations at vehicles to see the core pattern:
The 75 WP damage award is only given when "X" hp is removed from the vehicle in a SINGLE IMPACT. This is why HMGs or Mass Drivers or even Blaster Installations that can gradually "shred" a ton of HP off a crippled vehicle,... just won't get that "Damage WP".
It's also why a grenade or a Rail Installation or Proto small missile turret almost guarantees you get Damage WP.... yet a large Missile Turret never seems to get you any damage reward.
The "X" also explains why finishing off a crippled vehicle with ANY weapon often won't score you Damage-WPs at all. While the wonky kill-report sometimes won't "report" that you were the one responsible for squeezing off the final slug that put the vehicle out of its misery.
What that "X" number is, I don't know.
I am making a long reach here, but I don't think I am WAY off from the truth:
WP awarded for damaging a vehicle was based on ARMOUR damage only. I remember a few long threads arguing that armour alone was not fair, and that we ought to be awarded for ripping down the vehicle's sheilding,... but the conclusion was that shield-loss was not "damage", and only armour-loss was the deciding factor.
"WAS", means I can't be sure whether that has been changed...(because we drive CCP nuts with SO many change requests every month ).
By lobbing a FLUX grenade at a stationary vehicle, and seeing if any Damage-WP is given, we might know if shielding damage DOES count.  But, you be the one to try it first... I'm not sure if the driver will let you hang around long enough to read the result in the upper right cor---- (incapacitated.... triage 35m).
